Unable to add repeater to existing Netgear router

I tried by simply adding the Wifi SSID to repeater router(Universal repeater mode is ON). I use Netgear_r6120 as my primary router. The repeater I added is unable to provide internet to devices connected to it. Is there any settings that I have to change in my primary router?? Help!!

    What modem/gateway do you have?

Your router is the R6120? What firmware is on it?

What universal repeater are you adding?

    How are you adding it?

      Router : R6220

      Router Firmware Version
      V1.1.0.106_1.0.1

I'm trying to use my old Tenda router(N301) as Wifi Extender(Not in WISP or AP mode). As I came to know the Wireless repeating feature not available in R6120. So I just changed to R6220. Wifi SSID(2.5 & 5Ghz) name is not even showing in the Tenda router while trying to connect normally.

My requirement is to extend Wifi without any physical connections.

      Thanks.

I'd be checking with tenda on how to setup their devices. I've had one before and it was pretty sketchy
