Unable to connect to extender

I factory reset the device and plugged it in. Only the power LED comes on. I waited for 1/2 for more lights. The 2.4GHz light lite up amber at one pont and then went off. I can see the extender in my available networks on my computer. When I click connect, it says, "Can't connect to this network." I tried clicking on it while the amber 2.4GHz LED was on, but got the same results, "Can't connect to this network."

    1. was there a reason you factory reset? having some issue? 

    2. when you reset, did you push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds while powered on? 

    3. what color is the power led? Is it blinking/solid?

    4. have you tried hardwiring in a pc/laptop to it for attempting setup using the installation assistant? (disable the device you use for setup's wifi
