Going back to V1.0.9.14_1.2.25 solves the problem immediately (no factory reset / reread config needed).

I'm not so hot about downgrading my security patches to keep this up and running. But i'm also not so happy about buying new gear to keep up and decommissioning my perfectly good router.

You do not need to buy a new router. Option 1, wait for the new firmware from NG. Option 2, flash an alternative stable firmware.

Well in my case I have over 35 wireless devices in my home including a Ring doorbell and several Chromcasts that I rely on for entertainment. So waiting isn't much of an option for me. I picked up an Orbi 3 pack at Costco, added all my MacID (close to 50) addresses and I'll return it after all the smoke clears. Or not.

That's a good choice, but not everyone can afford a new router.
