Does it really make a difference to hang router as opposed to sitting flat as far as affecting signal?

Depends on how you hang it, vertically or upside-down. WiFi signals have a donut shape that radiates from the antenna's. if hanged on a wall, the signals will radiate towards the top and bottom, unless you adjust the antenna's. If you hang it upside-down on the ceiling, it will be just as it is sitting on a shelf

Great analogy with doughnut shape I've been told umbrella but doughnut makes way more sense I will hang it upside down now as opposed to on wall thx u 🤙
