that's about what you can expect out of wifi on the C7000's 5ghz. Some devices might get a little more speed if their wifi chip is more efficient.
the C7000 is a modem/router combo device and not simply a router. so it has to share its power/performance budget between the modem and the router. A rough equivelent router is the R7000 and its speeds will hit a bit faster than that but not a ton.

Something to keep in mind though is that 250-300mbps is enough to do most any tast. Even streaming 4k only uses 25-40mbps. So your games might not download quite as fast but any real time situation (streaming live tv/gaming/etc) should do fine
