WiFi router recommendation request
I’m not totally satisfied with gaming ping and home coverage of the NETGEAR Nighthawk AC2600 Smart WiFi Router (R7450). What other netgear WiFi router would you recommend?

It is a wood stud/drywall, 2 story ranch with brick exterior. 1700 sq ft.

The exterior will block wifi so don't expect much for wifi external to the home.
Is 1700sq ft total or on each floor?
Is your router centrally located or is it to one side of the home?
The R7450 broadcasts omnidirectional meaning if its on 1 side of the home, half the broadcasting isn't doing much good.
And if the home is truly 1700sq ft, a single router solution *should* cover it. the only * part is things in the walls can block wifi. things like hvac, certain types of plumbing, or even foil lined insulation can block wifi/cause dead spots.
What modem/gateway do you have?
What speeds do you pay for?
What speeds do you get?
What is your ping/latency on a speedtest?

The wireless range is working fine. I am concerned about high gaming ping....i.e. 80-100ms pings when other players get 30-50ms pings. I am wired with the gaming desktop PC to the AC2600 Smart WiFi Router (R7450).
I use the R7450 to connect PPPoE to the fiber connection.
I pay for 40down/25up speed service.
I consistently test at the 40/25 range.
I get latency results of 6ms

If you hit the speeds you should and the latency you'd expect during speedtesting, then your increased ping during games is more indicative of where the game server is located. The further away it is, the higher the pings times.
