will not hook up to 5G, gets bumped off

I have 5G with netgear 19....continuous problems keep on 5G...drops back to regular speed with Spectrum....4-5 devices in use. Is the problem with the rounter or other? Do I need to upgrade my router to better model...had this at leat 4 - 5 years if not longer.
