Will US modem and power adaptor work in EU??? - CM500 High Speed Cable Modem
Hey. Let me start out by saying, that I really don't know a lot about tech and electronics - so I would really appreciate, if you could answer without too many advanced technical terms :))
A couple of months ago I ordered a "CM500 High Speed Cable Modem" through Amazon. When the package arrived, I realized that they had sent me a modem with a US power adaptor. I live in EU (Denmark to be specific) and therefore can't use the US power adaptor.
I was therefore wondering, if the modem would work, if I got an EU power adaptor instead? Or would it still not work in EU, even if I get the right adaptor, since the modem is a US model? Or are there even any differences between the “EU models” and “US models”, when it comes to this cable modem - apart from the power adaptors?? (If there even exists an "EU model"?).
I am afraid of damaging anything, so I haven't tested too much, and my knowledge is pretty limited.
I found this thread with a similar question. Even though in this thread, it was concluded that his router wouldn't be able to work in EU - but in his case it was a wireless router and not a cable modem, like mine.

I believe it is too late for me to refund the modem now.
I have since ordering the modem realized that Netgear also has a department in Sweden and Germany. If I need an EU power adaptor, should I then try to get it from them? And is it even possible to order a power adaptor separately? Or should I try to buy a device that converts US electronic plugs to EU ones, instead?
Sorry for the flood of questions and thanks in advance - it really means a lot to me!! :-))

I'm not sure of the EU cable modem spec's even slightly. So I'm not much help.
the power issue isn't a big deal as you could get a different power supply. Its a fairly generic supply.
It'd just be if the EU used the same specs and could provision it.
