Wireless Devices shows MAC Address for 1 device that doesn't have an IP Address
I'm tracking down every device attached to my nighthawk router and I've identified every one except this. There is a Wirelsss Device listed when I log into the router that does NOT have an IP address...

Try to turn off the extender and see if that will still populate.

Hello larryhaskell What are the model number of your NETGEAR devices?
Did you identify what kind of device that has that MAC address? Is it a computer, tablet, mobile device, camera, etc.?
I'm not so sure if this might be the answer but still having no IP address on it is weird.
Have you tried factory reset?

My router is AC1900 Smart WiFi Router Model: R7000. The Wireless Range Extender is AC1900 EX7000 although, unlike my other devices, has no label on the device itself. The address in quesiton is C0FFD48F847F. I used the web to lookup the manufacturer based on the first 6 digits of this number. The vendor is netgear. The lookup site is http://aruljohn.com/mac.pl

It worked. The mac address disappeared when I powered the wireless router off. I've still got to rationalize why but it did answer what it was. Thanks for your help.

You're welcome. It is most probably because that's the virtual mac address.
