Wirelessly connecting C7800 to R7800
My C7800 is located on my main floor with the coax line, I am not receiving the speeds or signal I desire in my office which is on the lower level and on the other side of the home. I would like to ...
1. Set the R7800 up in AP mode and connect Ethernet to the C7800 and run it as far as you can in the direction of your office. Even if you can't get it all the way there, can you get it 'most' of the way there? The closer you get, the better the speeds will be.
2. Do you have PC's with Ethernet in the office? If so, set up the R7800 as a wireless bridge (look in manual for how) in your office. The R7800 connects wirelessly to the C7800 and then provides internet via the ethernet jacks (NOT WAN jack) on the R7800 (so PCs connect ethernet to R7800, which connects wirelessly to C7800). If wireless devices in the office are 2x2 devices, this has the 'potential' to double speeds (as R7800 is 4x4).

Thank you for the advice. I went with the bridge mode and it provided about the same speed that I could get connecting to the C7800 wirelessly.
I likely assumed that having the R7800 connect to the C7800 and then Ethernet into the DesktTop I would get improved speed.
Having read some of your and others post it would appear that may have been a poor assumption. My desktop adapter card is a Killerac2400 which had a similar construct to the R7800. So assuming my speed would improve without changing another variable Was a mistake.
My next move is to return the C7800, seems most like to keep modem and router apart. I’m buying a 32x4 3.0/ 3.1 modem and the Netgear AX8 router. Our family has AX devices in our iPhones and iPads. Those on the old protocol will likely be upgraded during the next purchase cycle.
Thoughts on my lofty expectations for these networking products?
