wndr3700 AC1900 R7000 reconnected to the internet
I have a netgear wndr3700 that has been in 'mothballs' for the past few years. I was living in a large house and the signal wouldn't reliably reach some remore sections. I employed another solution...

Plain WNDR3700[v1], or WNDR3700v2, or ..., or WNDR3700v5? Look for
"Model" on the product label.
"connected" you _how_, exactly? To what, exactly, is the
WNDR3700[vX] connected?

Which "genie"? Ever helpful, Netgear uses the name "Genie" for more
than one thing. Netgear routers have a web-browser interface called
"Genie", and Netgear has offered application programs for various
computers/tablets/phones, which are also called "Genie".

Web browser? Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual)
model number, and look for Documentation. Get the User Manual (at
least). Read.

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number,
and look for Downloads. (For older versions, under Firmware and
Software Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions".) Find the
kit(s). Download the kit(s) you want. Read the "Release Notes" file
for instructions. (In the User Manual, look for "firmware", and,
especially, for a topic like "Manually Upload Firmware to the Router".)
