by the way for a test you just need to disconnect you cable from internet port and to attach it to the internet port. two seconds. and i beat you will not have such md5sum problems anymore.

The manual states to connect the X4S Internet port to the LAN port of the other router which is how it is/was configured. I take it the "Internet" port is what you reference by "WAN" port. Is there reference that your method should work?
i had the same issue with my r7800 in ap mode. there were broken files transferring them with readyshare or ftp. manual is wrong. i have connected my router to the lan port instead of internet port and now it works as it have to do. i am using it connected to lan port during one year and do not have such problems amymore. one year of testing is enough?

OK! Using just the LAN ports and not the "Internet" port fixed the problem. I wish I would have thought (or known) just to move the ethernet cable before taking down and swapping out the router.
Appreciate all in this thread and patience! I hate when the manual is wrong!

Interesting.

Or when there's a hardware/firmware problem such that the router
fails to perform as designed/specified. (When your car doesn't start,
do you complain about the car or the car's owner's manual?) - KristinaSJul 11, 2018Apprentice

i think it is rather bug in the stock ng firmware. but using lan port is a workaround. by the way i would advice to use voxels fw
it is like a stock but with fixed bugs and faster/stable. could be flashed over stock and all your current settings are kept.
