X6 AC3200 R8000 as a Wi-Fi mesh extender

The R8000 series router only supports AP mode. Does have any support for a wireless repeater or extender mode. For AP mode, you would have to ethernet connect the R8000 to a host router and put it in a remote location for AP mode.
Well, unfortunately, that is not an option because Spectrum has locked out their Wi-Fi router (
SBE1V1K or SBE1V1R ) for proprietary reasons, not allowing anything to be connected to it. Even if I could hardwire into their router, I still can't get into the X6's admin settings to configure it.
