Factory reset the R8000. Don't connect it to the spectrum router. Go through setup on it and program in your settings like normal. ONce its all setup, put it in access point mode and hardwire its WAN port into the spectrums LAN port.
Yeah, sorry for not putting this in the original description ( my bad ), but I had reset the R8000 a couple of times during the various setup processes with no effectual change to gaining access to the admin section.
