D3600 loses all settings on every reboot

Ref: D3600-V1.0.0.64_1.0.1. Firmware. Win10, Hi All, for what it is worth I have also tried all the above with no success. I have installed a firmware backup which gets the router D3600 working but if I disconnect the power, then yes, all the setting disappears. Every now and then something happens with the connection from the exchange which causes the connection to disconnect. I can live with this if I am home as I can start the router and go through the setup process again but this is no good if the connection goes down and it is just my wife and kids at home. They will be without the internet. Please Netgear, I hope you are listening as this makes my router virtually unusable.
