Firewall Protection - NETGEAR Nighthawk (RS700S)

What is your goal with a firewall?
Enterprise level protection and management (need to know enough about it) or consumer grade like firewalla?
More consumer grade. Realize NETGEAR has one internal, but just want local management for home network. Looked at Firewalla purple (recommendations say it’s crap). Need something that’s compatible with NETGEAR maybe where I don’t have to buy a separate WAN to be compatible. I’ve already dropped $600 and don’t feel like dropping another $600 for a firewall. Help??
There really isn't much that will "integrate". there's armor but its pretty minimal as well.
I'd probably look for a used PC that you could install pfsense to and run your own firewall. Plus there's other open source firewalls out there if you have a PC to install them to.
