🙂I had a senior technician come in from ISP. After they saw it working on my laptop directly. They said it is an issue with the router configuration.

IF the ISP is using DHCP then the RBS defaults to DHCP on first setup. Should be no configurations needed.
Try a full power OFF of the modem. Factory reset the RS and during the reset, power ON the Modem. After the modem comes to ready, walk thru the setup wizard with a web browser on the RS:

During the setup wizard, should see progress of checking for internet access here. Does the setup wizard report a problem during this section of the setup wizard?

No luck, do you think it might be a compatibility difference with the SFP+ to RJ45 module that comes with my ISP modem?

OH, I didn't know you had a SFP module. Ya, anything is possible.
There a brand and model# of that SFP mod?
- nteambxFeb 06, 2024Aspirant
Not sure of the model, but it is from the ISP Optimum themselves. And they lock that port to only use their modules.
It is a module that outputs in RJ 45 - FURRYe38Feb 06, 2024Guru - Experienced User
K. Something to get with the ISP about. Let them know two different routers are not connecting to this SFP module.

So netiehr RS700 or R7000 works, but the connection to a laptop works? and the Internet LED on the RS700 is amber?
Can you go to the RS700's Web GUI to check the status for the WAN port? If you go to the Advanced tab from the GUI, you can see a dashboard and there is a tile named "Internet Port". Click on the "Show Statistics" button on the tile, it will pop-up the "Show Statistics" windows showing the physical link speed for each port. What does it show for the WAN port in the Status column?
In addition, on the Web GUI Advanced dashboard, please click on the Connect Status button to bring up the Connect Status window, and check if there is no IP address acquired.
We may need some logs from the RS700, I will send you a private message for the instructions to collect the debug logs. Thanks.
