Inconsistent Speed Test with RS300 on WIFI, Good Hardline Speed, (Less then 20 feet dist.)
Router Firmware Version V1.0.1.60 So I have now been through 2 RS300's (which I bought for their 2 2.5GB ports, and am quite pleased with the performance of those ports), But I have this issu...

Thank you for the reply.
I appreciate the through examples given, but I don't believe those principles apply here. I have tested the WIFI using my laptop (Intel AX201 Wi-Fi 6) and my Samsung S22+
My Laptop isnt 6E, so I cannot use the 6Ghz band, but my phone is.
The first chart is the laptop speed over the last 5 days, as you can see it varies rather dramatically. But I cannot find "why" it dips like it does, and it isn't device specific (2nd photo, phone, showing same dip of speed) but if I run the test with the 6E moments later I get 650 Mbps, same location.
I feel like its being throttled specifically in the 5Ghz range, but I dont know why.

Is Smart Connect enabled or disabled?
Try with Smart Connect disabled and devices connected on 5Ghz.

Smart Connect is disabled, I've never had it on:

Does this happen as well with Smart Connect enabled?

I have my Wifi set as different names, 2G, 5G, 6G, specifically so I could tell at a glance which I am connecting to and so my "older" devices can connect.

A few info needed to diagnose the issue:
- the internet speed subscribed
- what are the speeds when you run speed tests from the router (i.e. using the speed test function from the Nighthawk App)?
- I suppose the wired speeds are good?
- Even Smart Connect is disabled, use different SSID for different band, for example, use xxx-5G for the 5GHz WiFi only (different from the 2.4GHz and 6GHz) to check the speeds
- Are the speeds good at a close range (e.g. around 6 feet) but the speeds become unstable or slow when the range is longer?

- 2300+ Mbps on Nighthawk app (See screenshot)
- I suppose the wired speeds are good?
- 2300+ Mbps over CAT8 through the RS300 (See screenshot)

- I use 2G at the end of my 2.4, and 5G at the end of my 5. Example: WIFI2G and WIFI5G

- The slow speed on the 5 Ghz channel is consistent through the house, all get 150-250, when its "better" I can get anywhere from 500-800.

==> So the speeds are about 150-250 mbps even at short ranges?
Are you located in US? what are your channel settings?
Can you try different settings at a close range (~6 feet)?
- channel 48 with the mode "Up to 1.4Gbps"
- channel 153 with the mode "Up to 1.4Gbps". ==> Note: not all WiFi clients support this 5GHz band. If your clients cannot see the SSID in this case, then you cannot use this settings.
Thanks.
