LAN Connection takes a long time
I have two Netgear Nighthawk rs700's, one as the main router and one as the Access Point upstairs at the other end of the house. Yes it is in AP Mode and they are connected via ethernet for better b...
- Sep 03, 2024Yes, I did a bunch of testing and ultimately just cut a new cat6a cable and everything came back up with no issues. From main router 10G LAN to AP WAN. Something must have been wrong with that cable. Idk what could have happened to it. It’s looks just fine but obviously has a short or something wrong with it. I did set the static ip for the Ap but that’s just more so I can find it and sign in.

Any progress on this?

Well maybe I spoke to soon... It is working but I am now unable to sign into the AP. I ended up rebooting everything just to start fresh and then started testing the WAN port on the AP and now that works reliably. However the new issue, which I am going to make a new thread for, on my main router, I see the AP listed under the "Attached Devices" tab as a wired connection and is listed as a Netgear Satellite. When I sign out of the main and go to sign into the AP it tells me its disabled and that I need to enter the serial number and reset the password, I do that but its a loop. As soon as I reset it and click to sign in, it takes me back to the page telling me it is disable and I need to enter serial number.

Cabling can be particular. Glad you got it working. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
