As you have found you can't get ReadySHARE to work in modem only mode on the C7000v2.
Disabling wifi and DHCP on the modem/router still leaves you with the router active. You end up with two routers creating a messy network.
You could put the RS70 into access point mode, leaving the C7000v2 to manage the traffic.
You can also turn off the wifi on the C7000v2 to avoid conflicts with the RS70.
Whether or not this works for you depends on what you want the RS70 to do. In AP mode you run into this:

There is no IP address that you can use to get at ReadySHARE.
The trouble with those cable modems is that they aren't much use if you try to take them off piste. That's unlike DSL modem/routers which you can use as an AP to maintain their ReadySHARE function.
