After updating I did an additional restart to test & after about 3-4 minutes all the wifi signals turned on as expected. There was no situation where only the ethernet ports were getting internet access and all wireless devices were left disconnected.
I restarted it again as a test and yes this firmware makes the wifi devices connect back as expected.
