used in case if the primary DNS fail to respond
Please pass on any response from Netgear. When I monitored my ancient Orbi router, every time it did a DNS lookup, it sent queries to every DNS server on the list, and appeared to act on the first response that came back. i.e. there was no concept of primary and backup.
This conversation started with the report that although the user did not enter CloudFlare 1.1.1.1 as a DNS server, the router firmware just "added it" The user wanted to specify two of his own DNS servers in order to control internet access, and the router kept requesting DNS from CloudFlare that the user did not want.
