RS300 Wifi Lag Problems
Hello has net finally found a way to fix the lag problems with Nighthawk RS300 yet? I rolled back the RS300 firm ware to v1.0.0.50 because the v1.0.0.60 lags so much I can watch anything online and playing online is impossible. The old firmware is much better with the connection problems and online gaming is bearable with minimal lagging, unless I play online with friends the gaming is way too laggy to the point where i get disconnected. My wifi channels are 1,64, 47 INP is Spectrum model E31U2V1 Plan is 400mbs, DNS prime: 1.1.1.1 / Sec:1.0.0.1. i dont know what to do anymore I have tried many many configs i forgot what i did already I have sent debug logs but no one has found a solution. Honestly im just thinking of selling this RS300 router and just using spectrums plug and play router. NetGear I an really disappointed in your for letting me down after being a customer of 20+ years for the first time I am thinking of giving up and trying another brand of routers. 2025 wifi just sucks last year was all good but as soon as 2025 came just disconnection and lagging problems all around.

I'd keep in contact with NG support. Hopefully they can let engineering know about what your having problems with.
There was just a recent FW update for the 500 and 600 series. Hopefully NG will bring something new soon for the reset of the RS series.
- Camaxtli1207ApprenticeI am but so far not permanent solution to my problem, I still keep having connection problems, and nothing they suggest is helping, $250 down the drain. Guess im going to another router company, its a shame really i feel like if they don’t fix this problem soon they are going to loose a lot of clients including me.
Can you try channels 1, 40 and 69?
Is Smart Connect enabled or disabled?
Try Cloudfare or Quad9 custom IPv4 DNS.
Disable Protection Engine on the routers web page if seen there.
This only happens with wireless devices. No issues with ethernet?
If nothing else helps, then you might just return it and find something else as we don't know when a fix would be forth coming.

This only happens with wireless devices. No issues with ethernet? Both lag at the same time and come back online at the same time. There is days where connection is perfect with no lag spikes and some days WAN and LAN just keep disconnecting so much that i just take my devices off WAN because my mobiles internet has better connection.
