RS500 How often should DDNS send updates?
I'm taking advantage of the Netgear DDNS service. I would think that the router would periodically send an update to no-ip (the underlying DDNS provider) but I only see one update (the no-ip website ...

I've installed fw 1.0.6.16 on the RS500 and it still does not update the DDNS provider (no-ip in my case) every 24 hours.

Has the WAN IP address of the RS500 changed?

From the No-IP.com web page:
Says nothing about "24 hours". "DUC" refers to Dynamic Update Client.

As CrimpOn points out, the client only needs to update the provider when the address changes.
Is the update error you are seeing recurring?
Are you having any issues with remote access?

Another random thought: my ancient Orbi system uses No-IP.com for DDNS. No-IP.com shows the date of last update as Feb 21, which matches an entry in the Orbi log file. There are no further entries in the log (Feb 21 through Mar 7) It appears that when the router reboots (causing a log entry of "Initialized"), it checks in with No-IP.com This router frequently goes months between reboots. I checked logs from August to December and did not find any ddns entries.
It might be a useful test to reboot the router and see if shortly after the restart it checks in with No-IP.com That might suggest that the public IP address is kept in volatile memory which is cleared by a restart.
