The Firefox browser is not the issue as the router is set to do upgrades automatic
and even installed the Nighthawk App on cellphone and selecting upgrade be done than says succesful yet looking at the RS700 still shows the older version still being used.
Also the router still says an upgrade is needed

Netgear website support webpage says support for this $700 router I bought just last year no further support unless I pay them 😞
I tried filing a need for support ticket and it rejected it again saying support for my RS700 ended 3 months ago

Did you try the old nuclear option of a factory reset and reinstall?

No I did not because I found another thread on this subject on here to find out this has been reported like 50 times since start of this year where others have the same problem as I do and went told to do that reset that after that the router would be all fouled up
So here it is 3 months later and Netgear never solved this failure on firmware upgrades of firmware
As it is reading those posts when .96 came out in January, my router kept saying there was no upgrades and also auto upgrade was set on
Not until 3 days ago did my RS700 finally show new version needed to be done yet all paths to do so say sucess when upgrade is done but than showing old version still running and router page saying new upgrade is needed
I have used many Netgear products including cheaper routers of theirs and this $700 RS700 is a dog with no support and very few firmware upgrades since owning for 15 months
For some reason RS700 is treated like a step child and ignored by Netgear
Had the same failure when firmware is .82 and when .86 came out the same falure when doing that upgrade and when going to support got no answer on resulting the failure on upgrades
