What speeds UP and Down are you expecting to see?
Ethernet speed testing at the modem then behind the RS router?
Any Criticals, Errors or Warnings seen in the event logs needs to be reviewed and resolved by the ISP. Indicates a signal issue on the ISP line up to the modem.
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.
- CamreckemOct 26, 2024AspirantExpected is 500 down 50 up, actual is ~30 down 50 up. I get 500 down right after rebooting the modem, then 5mins-1hr later it drops to 30 down. Speeds were taken from a laptop plugged directly into the modem with the cat5e cable that came with the modem. Speeds are the same when performed on wifi (within margin of error)
I have an ISP tech coming out Monday, so hopefully that will shed some light on the issue if not resolve it.- FURRYe38Oct 26, 2024Guru - Experienced User
If that is happening with the direct connection to the modem, then the ISP will need to check everything. Have them review the connections status page and event logs data.
