Thank you for the reply. I went back to get the info you requested and discovered the hardware isn't Netgear but another manufacturer. Something that I should've done before ordering the router.
I guess I'll take this as a teaching moment.

How old is that hardware? It is possible that an upgrade could give you better performance.
Netgear does make gateways (modem+router) that have a coax connection.
