WPS PIN

Hello. I am trying to set up WPS but I need the PIN.

What is the WPS PIN for RS700S ?

I tried setting the password after a factory reset to the original password which is all lower case but it does not allow that. Says one letter must be Upper case. I was told if I set it back to original, then got to Advanced, Advanced Setup and selected Wireless setting, the WPS PIN would be at the bottom of the page. Since I cannot enter the original password, it does not show a PIN.

Thanks, Matt

I think you misunderstood.  When a Netgear WiFi router is Factory Reset, the credentials are set to

    • User Name: "admin" (which cannot be changed)
    • Password" "password" (all lower case)

When the user logs in using those credentials, he is forced to change the password to something else.  i.e. "You are IN already"  Create the password that you want the system to have and proceed with more configuration.

The RS700S user manual on page 82 describes using the WPS PIN method and wants you to enter the PIN of the CLIENT device, not the Nighthawk router:

Over the years, the use of WPS PIN to connect devices has almost entirely disappeared.  Either devices have a physical WPS button or the only option is to enter the router WiFi password.

      Guide

Helo. I have tried to reset my original RS700S router password which is all lower case. But netgear pops up the message that I must  use an upper case letter. Is there a way to get around this, ?

      Thanks, Matt
