ReadyNAS 422 Missing copied folders from Share
I'm a little new-ish at the NAS system but had my old hard drive degrade out on me and had to replace it. I took the long route by copying everything over to a backup drive, then installed the new WD...

That is the problem. A share is different from a windows folder you create directly in /data in a number of ways.
Unfortunately the only way to fix it is to delete all the data, create shares, and then copy the data into the shares.

When I went to transfer to the new HD I did not recreate new share fodlers on the system. I used Windows Map Network Drive to show it was a Z Drive to access the HD from windows and copied/pasted that way.
It shows the data on the HD however it shows on the cloud as Snapshot instead of data for some reason.
I'll attach a photo of what I'm meaning
one is showing the Coud data
2nd is windows dat screen showing the data is there.Windows dataCloud photo

I will start doing that now. Thank you for the help. I wished I'd thought of doing that before transfering all the data on the hard drive, took nearly a day to get everything moved over. BUT at least I'll be able to get it working again.
thank you again StephenB

One thing you could try:
- rename one of the root folders in data from windows
- create the share using the original root folder name
- copy the files into the share from windows (using your mapped drive).
- delete the renamed folder.
That should work, and would probably be faster than copying everything again.
