Acronis Add-on

Would it be possible to develop an Add-on that supports the Acronis Linux Backup Agent? I know an agent exists for Symantec Backup Exec (RALUS Add-On) and wonder why it couldn't be done for Acronis also. We have 11 servers being backed up to a ReadyNAS 2100, we are using the deduplication features of Acronis. Now we want to add backing up the ReadyNAS itself to a tape drive. I think that is the basis for RALUS and it would be great for Acronis to have this option as well. I don't know if it as simple as a wrapper around their Linux agent or much more difficult. I have never developed an Add-on for this product. Most of my development skills are outside of Linux.
