If the record on motion is greyed out the camera API is probably different between the 920 and the 932L. You can try other Dlink model numbers to see if another model number uses the same API.
The surveillance recordings are on a hidden share. This is to prevent tampering/accidental deletions/etc. Plus the data stored is in a proprietary format so it can't be used as-is. Of course you can ssh into the box and see the actual files if needed.
