DLNA videos disappeared

Hi, again, my Readynas 104 is giving me problems.

I have a video folder that is shared both on network and DLNA.

Until yesterday evening, all the files were there. Today I turned on my Samsung TV and my video folder appears empty.
My Samsung laptop sees the folder and the files. I can also play every file as usual.

I have restarted DLNA service several times. I have also removed and readded the video files folder from DLNA. Nothing. DLNA seems to be the problem. Please note that I received no system update for my 104 nor for my Samsung  UE55HU7100

  • Hi suskis,

It probably rescanned the media files and took a while to finish. Continue to be active in the community by posting questions, sharing ideas and suggestions.

Are you using ReadyDLNA or Plex?

Did you try going into system->settings -> ReadyDLNA and using the "rescan" button?

You might also try rebooting the RN104.

    Hi suskis,

In addition to StephenB's suggestion, try to disable and re-enable the DLNA service of the ReadyNAS and lastly, ensure your TV is connected to your network (LAN or WLAN).

    Hope this helps!

    Hello suskis,

Have you checked on other DLNA device if you get the same problem?

You may want to try reconnecting the TV to the network then if it has an option of rescanning network shared folders, please do.

    Regards,

DLNA is client-server, so the TV wouldn't be scanning for network shares.

Though many media players do support SMB and NFS.

I aready did all you suggested. Simply everything reappeared 24 hours later.
I never pressed rescan button, but perhaps it was doing it? I have 12 TB of videos, so, maybe, it was my Nas just taking forever to perform the rescan
