DNS options for ReadyNAS?
I'm looking for some advice regarding setting up a DNS for my ReadyNAS. There is a very nice article on setting up a general website at http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/24829/~/readynas-...

The two apps appear to be front-ends for BIND. It might be possible to use them for what you want (though its not something I've done myself). There are some guides - for instance: https://www.howtoforge.com/how-to-run-your-own-dns-servers-primary-and-secondary-with-ispconfig-3-debian-squeeze

Does the ReadyNAS have BIND installed already? I am trying to figure out who will be responsible for hosting the zone files for my domain. When I was running a virtual private server on GoDaddy, the front-end for BIND was set up through their interface, it was one of the very first items that needed to be configured to make sure the DNS was resolved properly. I don't know if that is exclusive to their service or if this responsibility will ultimately fall upon my ISP, domain registrar (GoDaddy), or the ReadyNAS. It appears the applications mentioned will provide the front-end for BIND, which is exactly what I am looking for, I just don't know if these applications should be my first option...or my last.
Most of the information regarding the ReadyNAS as a host server is based on using a dynamic IP address, a forwarded domain, or port forwarding through the router. I think I am going to start by contacting my ISP to figure out if zone files are configured the site when I request a static IP. I will keep this thread open for now, and post any developments as I move forward in the next week.
