OwnCloud on RN516

I'm running into a small issue with OwnCloud. I keep getting an error that "Your web server is not yet properly setup to allow files synchronization because the WebDAV interface seems to be broken. Please double check the installation guides." Is this something I need to worry about? And, on another, probably unrelated note... I can only access my owncloud using safari. Otherwise I push login and it just sits there.

I'm a brand new ReadyNAS 516 owner trying to get my legs under me... I was looking for a more specific forum to post this, btw, but I didn't see any sub-forums that were for the RN3,5,7xx devices... All of the NV and things, but not those.

  • Thank you! I wasn't aware of those forums. I'll search around there and see what I can dig up.

That error has nothing to do with OwnCloud. OwnCloud is just reporting a broken WebDAV on ReadyNAS.

The WebDAV on the NAS wont even work using direct https via a web-browser with non-admin accounts (they're not accessible), just admin access to manage the NAS is available (using OS 6.1.8 here).

I've also confirmed ReadyNAS WebDAV is broken via a Windows 7 Network connection setup, since I've successfully setup ADrive WebDAV perfectly fine (even if a little slow).

The WebDAV on ReadyNAS OS 6.1.8 may have something to do with an invalid certificate (expired 2013), since via Win7 Network Connection setup the certificate gives errors. However even if the cert is broken (which may be causing the OwnCloud error), the https requests aren't even allowing any other user account except admin of the NAS.

PC 1 - Win7 Ult - https WebDAV = no access other than admin account
PC 1 - Win7 Ult - WebDAV via Map Network Drive = Cert error (expired)
PC2 - Win7 Hm - https WebDAV = no access other than admin account
PC2 - Win7 Hm - WebDAV via Map Network Drive = prompts for user account, however no access to any account (no cert error though)

    Anyone else duplicated this?
