I installed the latest Anti-Virus Plus and went to the Overview tab to see what it can do. I started by selecting the "Disinfect" from the dropdown of what to do when a virus is detected. I then clicked Save but then is just runs and runs. i left it for about an hour and came back with it still running with the busy cursor at the center of the web page. Is it scanning or something and that is why is remains busy? otherwise this app is a bust for me.
This is serious performance issue with the AntiVirus service in 6.4.1 and 6.4.2 (beta). The current advice from Netgear is to disable the service completely for now.
Note the issue is not with the AV Plus app - its with the AV service itself.

I did as you mentioned and disabled the 6.4.1 Virus protection then tried again. I still get a waiting icon with no response. I deinstalled the Anti-Virus Plus and reinstalled it with the 6.4.1 Virus disabled and that did nothing. So in short it still hangs when i try to save the settings on the Overview page even with the default NAS virus protection disabled.

You might try rebooting and see if the performance improves.

Hi ToddHamp,
If rebooting the unit still won't fix the problem, I hope you could try to load the latest RC Firmware.

I rebooted and now it tells me that it can't connect to the internet. I checked my router and I see its IP address but without the NAS name identifying it. So i rebooted again and still nothing. I pinged the NAS with full success and i can browse to its files so i know it is on the network. i am getting very frustrated with this thing. I bought it for the virus protection because i almost lost everything to a ransomeware virus on my old ReadyNAS Duo. Now my old Duo is working a hell of a lot better. Without network capabilities the virus definitions have no way of updating.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
