RN204 and Plex Server Upgrade
The available Plex Media server (for RN2xx) is version 1.11.3.... Plex have announced that they will no longer support anything older than 1.15, and that their players will not work with older servers. Will there be an update, or do I now abandon the NAS storage route as an unviable option and move to installing a server on a windows based machine, becuase I'm not going to make the mistake of forking out for another, soon to be obsolete piece of hardware like this?

Plex no longer distributes through the Netgear app store (that has been the case for a long time). You get the current version for ReadyNAS from https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/#plex-media-server - choosing ARMv7 (RN2xx) for your NAS. Then download the deb file from plex, and upload it to the NAS on the apps page of the web ui.
The current download is 1.20.1.3213-67a1137a9, dated 18 August 2020.
