Where does the RN102 keep the applications

    To see the folder you want, you need to use SMB with finder (or file explore with Windows), not the browser interface.  And \\nasname\data is only shown there if you use NAS admin credentials.

     

    The folder name is .apps, not apps.  Also, the folder is hidden.  With Windows you can turn see if it you enable viewing of hidden files.  Even is you can't see it, you can navigate into it by typing the path into the address bar.  I don't use a Mac, so I don't know what (if any) options you need to set up in finder.

     

    Since you are conversant with linux, you could also ssh into the NAS and access the folder using the linux command line.
