So it turns out that I have a DIR-655 Rev B ... So the hardware must be slightly different. It turns out that I didn't have the latest firmware after all. While I was pushing the update button in the router interface and it was telling me that I had the latest update, it was wrong. I manually updated to 2.03NA, however I am still having the same issue.
gilesrulz, I think you are on to something since if I connect to the NAS with the command+k I can access my afp shares with no issues even though they don't show up auto-magically with Bonjour. How do you manually connect to the time-machine share, or a shared printer for that matter?
