Free up space on readynas 516
Hello, I'm deleting some files from my readynas to free up space. But I don't see the free space in the information growing. I have now deleted almost 1Tb, but I see no difference. You need to do som...
Thanks for the reply. Yes I use snapshots. Having only deleted a few folders within the share, I thought I could only delete those folders from the snapshot, but I believe you can only delete the snapshot by date.
Is balancing safe or can it create problems for existing files?

Balancing is a way of insuring your files are safe. You should be doing it as a maintenance function. How often depends on your use. For many, once every 3 or 4 months in sufficient. The more often you do it, the shorter each will take. So if you've never done it before, it may take a while on your NAS.
