Free up space on readynas 516
Hello, I'm deleting some files from my readynas to free up space. But I don't see the free space in the information growing. I have now deleted almost 1Tb, but I see no difference. You need to do som...
Thanks for the reply. Yes I use snapshots. Having only deleted a few folders within the share, I thought I could only delete those folders from the snapshot, but I believe you can only delete the snapshot by date.
Is balancing safe or can it create problems for existing files?

Then likely you are not seeing disk space free up because the files you deleted are still preserved in the snapshots.
So you do need to delete some snapshots to really free up space. Generally the most effective strategy is to delete the oldest.
FWIW, I always recommend custom snapshots, where you can set retention. That makes managing disk space much easier.
