Have RreadyNas devices been discontinued?

So I went online to netgear to look at what new readynas hardware was available.  I don't see a single ready nas product listed anymore.

Have they been discontinued?  Was the product line bought out by someone else?

Is anyone 'upgrading' to a different readynas vendor and if so which ones?

  • While Netgear has made no formal announcement, the evidence continues to mount that they have left the market.  My suspicion is that COVID related supply chain issues were the last straw, but that companies needing to let employees work from home also burned up the existing supply faster than they expected.

If you have an OS6 NAS, or a legacy machine that can be converted to OS6, I don't really see an immediate need to jump ship.  Somebody could jump in and buy the line (perhaps why no announcement has been made), or maybe they'll even release everything to the public.

On the other hand, OS4.x and 5.x machines are so long in the tooth that looking for a migration path while the machine is still working (making data transfer easy) makes a lot of sense.
