6.10.8 was made available - for manual download only - months ago. Cumbersome, some manual config changes have to be applied to make the APT update working again:
Beyond, of this: The horse is dead, very unlikely there will ever be future updates. It moot checking the live update...

I think you meant 6.10.9.
But jah313's issue is different. The check-for-updates function in the OS-6 web ui is returning a communications error.
The simple workaround is to manually install 6.10.9 from
But it would be good for Netgear to fix the problem with the server (and to start pushing 6.10.9).

Just for info I've been having this issue recently and still have it today on my RN202 - I checked the system logs and noticed this in fwbroker.log:
Sep 20 2023 17:55:56 INFO:AAGET_LOCAL_INFO: sinfo .model=ReadyNAS, model_num=202, .serial=45Y2535900564, .firmware_name=(null), .firmware_version=6.10.9

Sep 20 2023 17:55:56 WARNING:fwbroker.c:747:aquery_for_update::Success
Sep 20 2023 17:55:56 INFO:SEND_ERROR: err=60 cause=Error Curl details=SSL peer certificate or SSH remote key was not OKSo I tried going to the URL in the logs directly and I got the following certificate error:
Firefox detected an issue and did not continue to update.readynas.com.
SEC_ERROR_EXPIRED_CERTIFICATEI guess this is the cause of the issue connecting to the update server?

Sorry, my bad. Yes, of course.

Our common standard advise for months 8-)

And include the patches required, so we don't have to continue this tragedy for another half year, binding and wasting a lot of resources
