MMB Research

Tonight, my antivirus ran a scan on my wi-fi connection and reported that among the devices connected to my wi-fi was MMB Research Inc. So I'm suspicous because I have don't know the reason for this company to be connected to my network. Can anyone explain this?

The company isn't connected to your network.  Something the company makes is connected to your network.

Based on their website info, they provide iOT hardware/software (connecting smart thermostats, lighting, sensors, smartlocks, etc).  Do you have anything like that on your network?  Note the device(s) might be from a different manufacturer who is using MMB components in their product.  For example, they list Kwikset and Somfy as customerrs on their website.
