About installing NTFS disk in an already running system?

  Are you asking if it's safe to plug in an external USB disk that is formatted with NTFS? If yes, that would be fine.

    BUT if you are asking if you can add an NTFS internal drive to the NAS array, then the answer is no. The NAS needs to reformat it.
