Netgear Readynas deleting file mediaID.bin
I have ReadyNas Firmware 6.10.4 and I've copied a windows backup to my readynas. I no longer need this backup and I've deleted it except for the mediaID.bin file. Readynas refuses to delete the file ...

There is no option to delete the file mediaID.bin in the share folder. There is on all other files. It is missing on mediaID.bin... Thus my problem.
I also tried resetting the permissions and that file failed with Linux root failed error.
I've rebooted the NAS box many times, and the file and directory it is in, is still un-deleteable.

That's unusual - not something I've seen before.
One option (as I mentioned earlier) is to delete the entire share. That would require you to copy off all the other files in it that you want to save.
But before going to that extreme, I'd download the log zip file from the admin web ui (log page), and look in system.log and kernel.log for more details on the error. There's a lot in those files, so it is helpful to know the time of the error.

If you right-click and select Properties in Windows, are the read-only and/or system flags set? If so, see if it will let you clear them.

Neither of the flags are set..
