OS6 Backup EXT4 or NTFS
Please before i do this which file extension should i use all my files on the Nas are large 5-35GB when reading about this the suggestion is EXT4 but what happens if i need to reinstate my nas from ...
OS6 NAS uses btrfs for their file system.
But I think there is some confusion here. If the NAS is functioning, VLC would access and play the files using SMB.
Since RAID is not enough to keep your files safe, I recommend backing them up (perhaps via USB drives).
Thank you for that so what files sytem does the Nas use out of the box as it is i use plex to strean movies but if i want to can directly access the files on the Nas with say VLC and play them direct i wont want to be doing that Backup it will be purely an emergency tool to reinstate the Nas or a replacement Readynas
