PRO4 Gone Read Only - BTRFS Errors
Pro4 running FW 6.10.7. Was stable for a number of years with 4 x 3TB RAID5. Free space dwindled to extremely low (think <1% but can't remember exactly). So a couple of months ago roughly I replac...

Can you boot the NAS on Volume Read only mode? this should boot the volume back to read only and then try to boot the NAS normally after doing so.
BUT please make sure you have a good backup of your data before doing any procedures on the NAS.

No sure exactly what you mean by Volume Read only mode but yes I have previously re-booted it a number of times from when it was in read only mode and it came back with read/write access. This was before I realised the seriousness of the situation. Focused on ensuring backups before doing anything else right now.

Typically, the NAS is doing you a favor going into read-only mode so that no more damage can be done to an already damaged but still accessible volume before you complete a backup. And also typically, deleting and re-creating the volume (or a factory default, if you prefer) is the only assured way that the problem is 100% fixed. Been there, done that.

Thanks for advice. Confident now that all my backups are robust.
After I do factory default reset, am I able to reinstall the config archive backup?

If you have any apps installed, first reinstall them after you do the default. Then restore the config from the backup. The reason is that often something in the config files references the (not yet installed) apps.
My recollection is that there are a couple of settings that the restore won't apply (but that could be something Netgear already addressed). I still suggesting reviewing some settings after you do restore the config:
- the checksum, quota, and snapshot thresholds and the maintenance schedule on the volume settings wheel.
- the system->settings->update settings
- the NTP time servers if you changed the time servers
- the disk spindown and power schedule if you use those.
After all that, restore the files.
