1) Please read http://www.readynas.com/?page_id=83. Memory upgrades are not supported.
2) Pick RAM that matches the specs of your current RAM as closely as possible including the physical layout.
3) Same as answer to 2.
Be sure to run at least a few passes of the memory test (http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/boot/how_do_i_use_the_boot_menu) before trusting the memory. Even then the memory may be incompatible.
