I read the SMBstatus but I see only this string: using configfile = /etc/samba/smb.conf

If the OS partition is too full, the warnings are in the main log you can view from the UI.

So it doesn't look like that's what has caused the configuration file corruption (most likely smb.conf or one of the files listed on an INCLUDE line in it) . Do you have a saved configuration file before this started happening and before you added any new shares? If so, you can try uploading that. smb.conf is re-written every time you add or delete smb access for a share, so you can try just making a change there, too. Or you can wait for StephenB to take a look at your downloaded .zip and see if it points to a more specific problem.

I've done that, and am not seeing anything obvious in the logs. FWIW, there are some similar errors with ClamAV that don't appear related to the virus definition problem. The log shows that the service(s) failed, but nothing else.
Though I'm not seeing any errors in the volume, I've suggested running the disk test next. Also the memory test.
