Ready NAS 212 wont connect to second disc slot
Can't get the Ready NAS 212 to recoginze second disc slot (Bay 2). Both slots have the same WD Red 4TB hard drives. I've reset the NAS reformated the hard drives per instructions. It appears the second slot is defective. Also, I ordered NAS from Amazon back in December and can not seem to register the product with netgear as I get an "invalid country code" type error when I attempt to register my serial number.

Can you try doing a factory install with a single disk in slot 1? Then power down the NAS, move the disk to slot 2, and then power it up and see if it boots.
You can email customer.service@netgear.com with your registration issue.

Thanks. I tried that twice with both discs. Only slot 1 appears to work as it is the only one that will show up. When I put a disc only in slot 2 it will show no discs in the system.
If the system boots with a disk in slot 1 (with slot 2 empty), and it gives a diskless status with that same disk inserted in slot 2 (with slot 1 empty). then there is either an issue with the SATA interface or the power in bay 2. This is not repairable.
Check your warranty status - original purchasers are covered for three year (but the warranty is not transferrable). If you are covered, then request an RMA via my.netgear.com.
